Today I woke up with an idea for an 80s style slasher comic. I guess I shouldnt say “idea” as it’s just a celebration of the tropes I love. The goth girl gets railed and killed in the first act. Fat nerdy guy. Chad. Final Girl. Simple premise.

So I thought Id come to Substack, find a writer from the people I subscribe to that write strictly horror to pay to write a 24 page comic. Of the horror writers I follow 18 of the first 20 posts (not notes) contained AI art with the story. So 90% of the people I was going to consider would apparently want me to follow their example and have AI write it. I don’t understand why a creator would actively work against other art forms, but its the fact of the matter. Using AI art is actively harming my profession and my living. I do not support generative AI in any form or use. I cannot figure out why I see so many writers actively support its use. I don’t know if its narcissism or ignorance but I find no excuse for it from someone who considers themself creative.

This project is not that big of a deal…just a simple little project, but it comes from a human mind. Id be embarrassed to post artwork that was inspired by AI writing.
